On Saturday December 17th 2011,  Action Sports Foundation partnered with Somebody Cares Tampa Bay, Central Christian Church, Pasadena Baptist Church, His Interfaith Services, Thru His Grace Ministries, and the FUN Movement on a dinner banquet that served over 300 homeless people. Action Sports Foundation played a major role in this event through fundraising efforts and heading up kitchen and food service operations. By working together as a team, we were able to prepare a turkey dinner that was fit for kings, and served with a smile to some less fortunate bay area residents who need it most. Through various donations and fundraising efforts, we were also able to give the banquet attendees a care package to take with them that consisted of toiletries, socks, and a warm blanket. We also gave out toys and sweatshirts to the kids, and our guests were even treated to an impromptu Skateboarding Exhibition with local pro skateboarders.

The work we did on Saturday was a collaborative effort among organizations, and "paying it forward" in events such as this one, helps us open up many opportunities for the future of the organization. At Action Sports Foundation, we are dedicated to being role models for our athletes, and encourage our athletes to be the best they can be- both on and off the field. Through the partnerships we have formed, we will be able to have our athletes participate in similar community events and help them form lifelong habits of charitable giving and positive interaction in the community. The sense of accomplishment that is realized after completing a project like this,, brings on an incredible boost of self-esteem and sense of accomplishment . This is a feeling that our organizations strives to perpetuate in everything we do. A special thanks to Albert Ferguson who arranged the use of kitchen facilities at P-TECH.

Thanks to all who participated, and we'll see you at the next event!

WOW! The year is almost over and we haven't even had time to review some of the remarkable accomplishments throughout the year!

Taking a look back at 2011 brings a smile to my face, because I truly feel that ASF had it's best year ever, and (finally!) the last few pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. When we started ASF over 5 years ago, it was merely a few kiters on the beach knocking around some ideas of how to take it to the next level, and slowly but surely, we have molded that crazy idea into reality.

Earlier in the year, ASF hosted several cleanups at Fort Desoto Park, some of which we invited local Boys  & Girls Clubs and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters to join us in cleaning up our favorite park, playing some beach games, and of course- a cookout! The kids had a great time and we gathered quite a few bags of trash after the busy July 4th weekend.

This year's Children's Home Day At The Lake celebrated our 4th year as a partner of The Children's Home, and the event keeps getting bigger and better each year. In 2012, we hope to begin regular watersports clinics with The Children's Home to give these kids even more one-on-one instruction in their favorite sports.

We have always dreamed of having an event to invite the public to experience our watersports, and the 1st Annual Kite4Kids Watersports Festival exceeded ALL of our expectations! This event was a group effort among ASF and the entire Tampa Bay Watersports Coummunity and included a SUP race, Kite Experience, Bands, Food, and more. Another part to this event is the Downwinder Kite Race, which is scheduled for the first windy weekend on January 2012.

To  close out the year, ASF had the honor of serving up a holiday meal for over 300 Tampa Bay area residents who are struggling during these tough economic times. The volunteers served up classic holiday treats to our guests, and had gift bags for all who attended. Events like these bring joy to those who need it most,  and give athletes an opportunity to give back something to the community.

Although 2011 will soon be gone, the memories of these events will last forever in the hearts and minds of both our volunteers, and in those we serve. A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all ASF volunteers, partners, sponsors, and supporters!

See You In 2012!!!
