Event Reports

This weekend, Action Sports Foundation partnered with Ucanski2, Liquid Access, and St Pete Parks and Rec Dept. for an amazing day of adaptive kayak and waterski clinics for area disabled veterans. This awesome day on the water took place at Lake Seminole in St. Petersburg, and we couldn't have asked for better weather!

The ASF team has had the honor of working with UCanSki2 at several adaptive waterski events over the years through our partners over at the Tampa VA. Their adaptive ski and wakeboard programs are top notch, and founder Ann O'Brine Satterfield, has assembled not only the safest, most progresssive adaptive ski program around, but also an all-star team of volunteers to run the programs. There is a lot of work and logistics that go into these clinics, Ann and her staff are truly professionals at what they do and it was inspiring to see them work.

We would like to thank Ann O'Brine-Satterfield from UCanSki2 for inviting us out to participate in this event.  It was also great to see Lin Hales and Carly Griffin representing ASF as volunteers. Stay tuned for video footage of these athletes tearing it up on the water, and stay glued to our web page for more upcoming events and footage.

We will see you on the water!

Check out the 2012 Trial By Trick Wakeskate Jam and Block Party that went down on April 21,2012 over in Orlando. This event had been scheduled to take place in downtown Orlando, but due to the weather and last minute issues, it was moved to the Kevin Sutton 'compound" on Lake Jessamine.

ASF volunteers invited youth and staff from a local Clearwater Boys & Girls Clubs to join us in our first beach cleanup of 2012, at North Beach, Fort Desoto Park. ASF volunteers arrived bright and early to get set up for the day, and despite heavy fog throughout morning, it turned into an absolutely perfect sunny (and warm!) February day.
